We make personalized birth and adoption certificates for pets, and keep The Official Pet Registry — a permanent, serial-numbered record of every one we issue. A small independent business in Georgia.
We went looking for a birth certificate for a pet and found generic printables. Clip-art borders, a blank form, nothing anyone would put in a frame. None of it looked like the relationship it was supposed to mark.
Pets are family now. They get real names and birthday parties with cake, their own side of the bed, their photo on the wall next to everyone else's. And when they go, they are grieved like family. A child gets a certificate the day they arrive, but the animal at the center of the house gets an order confirmation. It was time their paperwork caught up.
So we made the thing that was missing. A certificate held to the standard of a real one: engraved-style borders, a gold registry seal, print quality that holds up next to art in a frame, and a pet's details on it just like a child's. And a registry behind it, because a document with a record number holds a different kind of meaning than a template anyone can download.
What we were after is the moment someone points at the frame and explains it. A conversation piece (show me a pet parent who doesn't want to talk about their baby).
You see a four-legged animal. We see someone loved and cherished as though you shared the same DNA. The certificate is a way of saying that out loud. The registry is how it stays said.
What The Official Pet Registry is
It is the part that makes a certificate checkable rather than just printable.
Every certificate we issue receives a serial number in the format HTP-YYYY-NNNNN: a prefix, the year, and a five-digit number assigned in order. HTP-2026-00001 was the first record we ever issued. Numbers are never reused and never reissued, and each one is recorded permanently against the certificate it belongs to.
The number is printed on the certificate and repeated as a QR code on its Registry Card page. Scanning it opens the record; the number can also be typed straight into the registry. The record confirms that the certificate is genuine and shows the certificate type and the month it was issued.
Records are private by default. A record page confirms a certificate is real without showing the pet's name or the family's details. A family can ask us to display the name publicly, and most don't. Verification and exposure are different needs, and we keep them separate deliberately. How the registry works, in full.
What we will not claim
A pet birth certificate is not a legal document. Ours isn't either. It carries no legal standing, no government office issues one, and it will not prove ownership of an animal in a dispute.
The documents that do carry weight are a microchip registration, a rabies vaccination certificate, a local pet license, and for purebred animals, breed registry papers. If what you need is proof that an animal is yours, register the microchip and keep the details current. That is the mechanism that actually works, and we would rather tell you that than sell you something on a misunderstanding.
What our certificate is: a keepsake that marks a real occasion, printed properly, with a record behind it that anyone can check. We think that is worth having. We just will not dress it up as something it isn't. We wrote the long version of this answer here.
How a certificate is made
You choose birth or adoption wording and one of four designs, two for dogs and two for cats, then fill in your pet's details with a live preview, so you see the finished document before you pay. The certificate is issued as a print-ready PDF at 300 dpi in both US Letter and A4, emailed instantly, along with an ink-friendly version for home printing and the Registry Card carrying the QR code.
Every certificate is $6.99 at launch, through October 31, 2026. There is no subscription, no account to create, and nothing ships.

If you spot a typo after delivery, reply to your delivery email and we re-issue the certificate free within 30 days, no questions asked. Because each certificate is personalized and delivered digitally, all sales are final once delivered; free corrections replace refunds.
We would rather fix a mistake than argue about one. It is a $6.99 product and nobody's day should be spoiled by a misplaced letter.
